About The Manchester Calendar by Fill Factor Photography

Neil Downie was born in Glasgow in 1970 and raised in the suburbs of Manchester where he has lived for over 30 years. Fabrizio spent many years expressing his artistic talents through DJing be it in clubs or supporting touring bands. Fortunately for the photographic fans among us, the pitter patter of tiny feet forced him to resign from his career with the 1s and 2s in 2003, and he resumed his photography with unbriddled passion. After many years shooting with assorted film cameras, he made the change to digital in 2006 and has never looked back. The ease with which digital images can be processed and the quality of todays DSLRs has allowed Fabrizio to take his photography to a higher level. This latest project, The Manchester Calendar, has been 12 months in the making, and the results are truly outstanding. In 2007, a relationship was struck with DigiCals, a bright young company based in Stockport that produce quality A3 calendars via a revolutionary technology. With over £500,000 worth of investment with Hewlett Packard and development expertise from their engineers in the US, DigiCals can now provide calendars unlike any others.

The collecting of photographs for the calendar started in Summer 2006. Fabrizio has covered most of Manchester's most well known landmarks such as the Cathedral, Bridgewater Hall, GMex Centre, Eastlands, Old Trafford and many more shot at or around dawn or sunset. The beauty of the service that DigiCals provide is that the image library for the calendar can constantly be expanded as and when new photographs are made.
